I'm not really a poet I just wanted to write a poem for my pop. He's name is Paddy Martin and he is a poet.

My Pop

My pop is special to me,
I am eight years old
I'm older than my pop
I think he's only three. (joke)

I love my pop because,
he sees flowers every where he goes,
he talks to animals like they're his friends,
and he calls parrots rainbows.

My pop loves rivers and oceans,
my pop hates war and fights.
my pop is so different,
he has the coolest insights.

My pop is going home tomorrow
and I'm going to miss him so.
I know I'll cry when he leaves.
I love you Pop, I don't want you to go.

Chrissy

This first poem of Pop is heartfelt and has so much meaning as you share with him flowers, animals, nature and his philosophy of peace in the world. Your poem is simply beautiful.

This might be the first poem about your pop, but I hope not the last. Only three, maybe he is like me, born on Feb. 29.

This poem has had me in tears, it's so special. A love like this is a rare gem in an often difficult world, and your wonderful words glow like pop's rainbow parrots.
