I love to go crabbing and this poem was inspired by a recent crabbing trip.

Crabbing On The Dock

My belly wet from pulling up the traps
My hands slightly raw from tugging the ropes
I feel the sea in the strength of my arms
And the water cleanses me of tension

An orchestra of sea lions resounds
Their barks are heard across the entire bay
I watch the cormorants when I see them
They seem out of place in the swarm of gulls

I sit still, watching the ocean waters
The sins of my past seem irrelevant
Thoughts of orcas start swimming through my head
And I yearn to now their presence again

As most men strive to complicate the world
I watch the water, weary of men's goals
Wanting only the bare necessities
And I give thanks to the lord for crabbing

The simpler things in life seem to be treasured more. Love the descriptive and detailed write.
