Divine Circle 2 by Steve Slimm

Divine Circle

This morning,
Reaching into the pocket of my raincoat,
I pull out a card
That simply reads:
"Enough".

My neighbour
Yesterday has mown the grass in the meadow,
Leaving a centre circle
For the purple orchids -
Divine.

Some people,
Living in high-rise flats in Islington,
Don't see a soul
From week to week -
Forsaken.

This morning,
Looking closer at the word I hold before me,
My heart feels broken;
But nothing like
The world's.

A very deep write Steve..I agree everything is a matter of perception in life....our sorrows and disappointments pale when we look at the world's sorrows and pains

All things turn full circle eventually - hurting hearts need to feel for the whole world's pain as the last phrase in this perceptive poem brings out.
