Okay. So this poem was, obviously, written out of anger. I can't exactly recall what I was so mad about as I wrote this, but every time I come across this 'oldie', I still can't help but raise my eyebrows. Among other strong emotions, anger is, by far, one of the most powerful. If you channel that energy with a force, who knows what could happen next! :)
I raise my wineglass
Forgive me if I parade
This is a tribute; a toast
To the one person
I despise the most
Here's to your idiotic chaos
Here's to your hideous truths
Here's to your decieving looks
For all the world to see,
I hang your depravity on serrated hooks.
Here's to the heartless singer
Here's to the bruised lovelorn
Here's to the weakest soldier
For all humanity to witness,
I toss your soul into an inferno to smolder.
Here's to those quivering lips
Here's to those burning eyes
Here's to those lifeless fingertips
For all it's worth,
I smile every time your essence rips.
I hold this bitterness high
Forgive my ever-shifting gears
This is an outburst; an eruption
To the lost cause
To the person I thought you were
To the one I haven't missed for years
Cheers!
You use ingenuity picking your words and it makes it very original. You've never made friends with cliches, and it shows. :)
