Now gone the tainted smell left by yesterday
makes today feel almost happy.
Colour at this end of morning smothers regret
in blindingly bright gleams of sorry.
Last night is asleep.
Bruised after we gave it a beating dark's carpet
caved in to our trampling feet.
Right now is still a bit bleak
but alright.
Today's dawn broke all records for breathing
quietly while we awoke.
The troubled fire went out when not stoked and
for pity's sake today behaves
better.
Already replacement net curtains have fallen
over our yesterday-face.
New brooms they say sweep clean
if used.
The black and blue words we threw at each other
have faded to pale.
Making whoopee behind closed doors to unspoken
emotion leaves bad feelings
and smell.
Tainted emotion kept inside never turns out
very well.
So right, we must move on to the next moment of our lives. Wise words Fay.
