Reflections on concert, performed in Vienna for New Year's Day.

Waltzing in New-Year.

Elegance dressed by waltz is musicians' way
Of bringing to New Year a light, easy
Performance of good artistic playing.
Amid ornate high ceiling halls, Viennese
Banquet of lyrical movement begins.
All hold a well prepared breath, as lively
Orchestral notes fold the audience right in
To the palm of talented hands, players delight
This fully booked night with Straus melodies,
While I, sitting housebound hear every chord
As though it were played just for me, see readied
The floor as waltzing brings ballet through doors
Into opulent rooms, frothy net dresses
Floating like clouds surrounded by music
Elates me again as applause's acclaim
Resounds in my head. It is always good news
To read New Year's concert will be retained.
Maybe next time I could book to be there.
Vienna would be an exciting affair.
