I wrote this poem today following an easter of emotional pain that spread through my family. I pray the renewal of transformation will bring it's own healing.

Life Purpose by Steve Slimm

The Wound of Love

Into one space
All at once
Come the wounds
Of a lifetime.

"Here we are!"
They roar as one;
Because in Truth
There is only one.

"Where are you from?"
An anguished cry
Is heard from somewhere
Behind the veil.

"Why arrive now
Just at a time
When it seems
You're most unwelcome?"

"We come from the spheres"
Cry the angry wounds,
"At a time
Decreed by Love"

"Like the wind of the North
Or the wind of the East,
We are simply
A movement in space"

"But what would you here?"
Comes a plaintive sob
Through the tears
Of uncertainty.

"Why come to taunt us,
Inciting the children
To hatred
And acts of violence?"

"We are the wound
Decreed by Love,
And of your world
Know nothing"

"You are the children
Who cannot play
Without wanting
To discover a reason"

"But it isn't our fault!"
comes the sharp reply,
"We are only as Love
Has shaped us!"

"And when you arrive
To cause us pain,
Where are we
Supposed to hide our face?"

"There is no shame
In feeling hurt"
The wounds reply
Less angrily.

"For when Love shaped you
From your soil,
The rock of power
Was shattered in your bones"

"And as you try
With all your might
To piece the rock
Together"

"We provide the glue
That binds the rock;
And sometimes the bones
Are bound to hurt"

"Is there no better way?"
Cried the angry voice
Of a child
Who hides his face.

"The children who hurt
Are also bound
To lash out
And cause each other pain"

"It's Love's decreed way"
said the soothing wounds
Who are simply
A movement in space.

"Welcome us into a heart of pain,
And the glue of Love
Will bind your bones
Into the Power of Eternity"
