A melancholic metaphor.

Broken Man

In the distance a broken man stands, surrounded by nothing but arid wastelands.
As his suroundings crumble, he stands and looks on, tears in his eyes suggest it's he who's done wrong.
The world that surrounds him is poisoned and toxic, but no-ones to blame just him, he did this.
Flowers wilted - birds silenced - trees rotten, the beauty of yesteryear is all but forgotten.
This place was fruitfull, happy and bright, but he wouldnt allow that and raped it of life
He cursed the world that let him love, dismissed the angels that loved from above.
The angels look on, but he doesnt care, a monster on a rampage full of hate and despair.
The man stands alone, quiet and calm, but in his soul a black fire burns.
A deal with the devil gave him a world of pleasure, but nothing that beautiful lasts forever.
This is his world now, black and cold, this place he'll inhabit til he is withered and old
With blood on his hands and tears down his face, he runs for safety, you are that place.
As he runs, the ground starts to crumble, the sky blackens and fills with a rumble.
An unseen force stops him in his track and a cold hand is placed on his back.
The scared man looks up, piss runs down his legs, in the presence of evil he falls down and begs.
"spare me please, this is no life. i cant stay here where sadness is rife" .
The darkness surrounds him, steals his breath, he starts to realise this is the only life he has left.
Trapped in limbo, no light for a thousand years, darkness of heart, soul and tears.
The man lives a half life, never quite living, waiting for the day that he will be forgiven

Wow. Seems you've pictured it well. Since the Bible says "...there is forgiveness with Thee that Thou mayest be feared....." and that the Lord's mercy endures forever, does he eventually find the forgiveness and life?
