Format is a Tanka
We grieve for a nation shaken by disaster, with images of their stoicism leaving their imprint... many gracefully taking a bow as they receive their rations, having waited in queues kilometers long... their remarkable spirit glows as elegantly as the cherry blossoms they revere...

Stoicism...

oriental man

ravaged by nature's fury

remains self-contained

though others wear grief sobbing

only a flicker's revealed

Well, this is quite good, but it's just a touch stereotypical. I've seen this type of thing portrayed in movies many times. It's nowhere near your best. I simply loved "Peace".

Thought-provoking and excellent depiction of stoicism, especially as it is presented by oriental custom. Impressive and yet all men are equal. The violent reaction is wearying mayhap, while the other though initially easy to bypass, is perhaps more sobering. Beautiful tribute to the tragedy.

Hey... Cataclysmic eathquakes, catastrophic tsunamis and multiple nuclear plant meltdowns can be a nuisance, I'll grant you, but failing to maintain your dignity... that's just unthinkable : /

This speaks for the respect and dignity shown right now by that stoic oriental man Robyn. A meaningful verse and good reminder to most westerners.

Their poise and respect is admirable and am glad you have showed me this side of their nature as I get too upset watching in on television. A thoughtful and informative Tanka Robyn.
