~ in touch with the raw truth ~

Sinking Deeper

The heaviness in my chest
sinks deeper than my heart.
It suffocates and scares me...
for I’m afraid it will snuff
out all the love and joy
that totally fills my soul.
It’s there every day,
from the moment I rise,
to the last conscious breath I take,
as I lay my head down each night.
Writing about it puts me too close
in touch with its meaning;
my tears might never stop.
Trying desperately to avoid
increasing the anguish
means I don’t write at all...
And so I won’t,
because
I just can’t.

Hearfelt emotions epxressed and penned so well here Nadine. Sometimes when we do write of our heartache and anquish it will not go away, but somehow, it lifts some of the weighted burdens.
