A Patchwork Sky (acrostic/ ‘Dectina Refrain’)

A Patchwork Sky

Hold—
open
the window
caught in sunlight;
hoard daybreak’s warm streams.
Push away the shadows
overcome with greyer sky;
takeoff the darker shades of rain
clouds, for dawn’s crown to crest the mountain.

Hold open the window caught in sunlight.

I love a poem that opens one's eyes to hear the voice of a poet telling us to look around and observe the things most people ignore...there is the form also for that touch of something magical going on in what some would call just an ordinary day. Dorothy A Poet Who Loves To Sing

A desire to hold on to a shining moment, or the thrill of emotion it engendered? Even if it's just as a guide to study the preferable elements to be included in moments yet to come? Your work says a lot to me, always has. The upside of a hotchpotch? You can patiently extract the parts you need : )
