School of thought

The teacher uses
White chalk
A black board
And
The equation
Is born....

Students try
To read between
The lines
Where
Margins are thinned
And
The sight fails....

Someone forgets
To take down
The notes
As the writing
Is erased
And
The slate
Is fresh again.....

A lesson
Embraced
Imbued
And
Engraved as
The bell goes off....

Who shall raise the hand
When the roll call
Is taken tomorrow....

it seems better to remain a clean slate

This is very cool - life's lessons are often missed...thus mistakes repeated again and again. Take notes! LOL. And yes, raise your hand in class once in a while. Nice work - I really like this poem.

And The slate Is fresh again..... That's indeed the best way to learn - rather than merely repeating or copying! Good narrative poem, nikunj

The door opened for all to come in; some were too busy. Some stood at the thin edge. some listened; some didn't hear. Some opened the book to study. Some could read the writing with their eyes closed. Some had an answer in there head before it was said. Some found the question was the truth in the answer. Some understood and will be there tomorrow with or without a bell. Some have the magnet that gathers more of the same. Freedom like this is gold that can't be lost. Some wont raise a hand but will offer a hand instead. And with a slate that clean; everyone will be on the bus tomorrow. Smile and the world will smile with you. It's contagious. Forgetting to remember to take notes is fatal - methinks the roll-call would be wasted on me, a dreamer - - great school of learning in this verse as addition to thought. Good read.
