Why Restrain ?

An iron clamped heart
still beats despite the sighs
decaying onto themselves
in an icy moonless night.

Dreams still walk
down the cobbled path
laid with utopian bricks
even as the sky turns gray.

Music won’t stay, no matter
how cosy the storage is.
An eager heart’s quest is
as old as the song itself.

Sometimes pain takes over
from karma , in a journey
where pursuit is salvation
each beat worth a milestone.

true poetry indeed Nikunj; the last stanza is simply spoken like a person who accepts everything.

Worthwhile indeed are the painful milestones on our journey - - an evocative and atmospheric verse which stays long after the read. Thanks for asking the very appropriate question in the title Niks. Dreams do still walk despite the cobbled paths.
