WHEN SUNS DESCEND

WHEN SUNS DESCEND

I found gifts in
The strangest place
I found them etched
On twilight's face
And I unearthed
The strangest gifts
You must catch them
Before they sift

And I've been searching
I've been soul searching
And maybe this is it
I can vaguely feel it
It's in this moment
Serene contentment
Peace keeps preservation
Even when suns descend

As butterflies
Taste with their feet
I look around
And taste defeat
I peel myself
Like an orange
Life lessons can
Beat a syringe

And I've been searching
I've been soul searching
And maybe this is it
I can vaguely feel it
It's in this moment
Serene contentment
Peace keeps preservation
Even when suns descend

I can't avoid
Bittersweetness
It's warmer than
The lost soulless
When my innocence
Feels guilty
I take stock of
Serenity

And I've been searching
I've been soul searching
And maybe this is it
I can vaguely feel it
It's in this moment
Serene contentment
Peace keeps preservation
Even when suns descend
