GROWN MAN

GROWN MAN

The only home I have
Is my mother's presence
She can never teach me
A solid man's presence

I used to keep myself alive
For my beautiful mother
And it was worth it to survive
Her wrath and all her temper

I'm a grown man
Who still needs his mother
I've unveiled skin
In search of a father

Can love ever be home?
Maybe a fairytale
Is waiting to come true
Like lavender waves to sail

I used to crawl into bed
Beside my many patriarchs
But then, when they would leave my side,
My fragile heart was fading art

I'm a grown man
Who still needs his mother
I've unveiled skin
In search of a father

A discovery of love
Would give my mother peace
But all of my prospects
Have been like a wintry breeze

I'm a grown man
Who still needs his mother
I've unveiled skin
In search of a father

Your poem contains some very interesting and unusual thoughts. I found it touchingly overlaid with the search for a father figure. Sad and heart-rending.
