Sheila (women I have known, stories I have heard poem one)

As he finished
she felt his member shrink
she quivered, shuttered
she could not even think

He leaned in to her ear
his hot breath made her quisy
whispered to her fears
"if you tell anyone,
I will kill your mother easy"

She kept the secret
until age thirty-five
when she left it in a note
beside the bottle of pills
and a smoking colt 45

Calfornia passed a law eliminating the statue of limitations on child sexual abuse as many cannot report their abuser until they are of an age of understanding and reasoning. Often the limit had passed before they could do so. I applaud California, my state of birth and encourage all states to do so.

You make a very strong point in this piece Sandra....I am trying to imagine the mental torture the poor woman must have undergone....

i like this Sandra...I find that when men write about woman being abused they tend to be graphic and that makes me think are they enjoying writing it? are they victimizing the woman/child again subconsciously? do they envy the victimizer and wish they could do it themselves?

This series shows a lot of promise. You are growing as a verbal artist.

Another one with great power. The plight of some women does need to be spoken about. Bravo.

For the record I just did something I NEVER DO. Deleted a comment that said "all men are horrible, got it" I did this because it was assualtive to all decent men and not an intellectual comment about poetry or this poem. Say whatever you wish on my poems. Say they suck but dont use it to spread your own baggage on all of either gender.
