Flutter

The tree branches are gently rippilng
Emerald leaves flutter like farlying stars
Greeting you as a long lost friend

Soft earth giving way underneath your feet
the moisture permeates the air as well
Aftermath of a refreshing rainfall

You momentarily step from the trail
To caress the course bark of an arbor
Such exquisitely rugged skin

Chickadees chant their merry melodies
Offering their voices to help you fly
Away from the bane of urban madness

You close your eyes and take one long breath
Your nostrils flared, the cologne of the trees
Infuses the whole forest with your lungs

Time seems to move more slowly and surely
That a single second can take hours
And that is if time should still have meaning

With each arbor you observe and stroll past
The words they pray drift on the warm zephyr
Thoughts of the outside world flutter away

Beautiful imagery. Makes me forget for a second that it's still winter!

Wow. I love the scene you painted, the experience so vivid and alluring, the refreshing moment where one would forever stay, if only they could. I enjoyed this very much.
