intent: Control by another is slavery.
When we take control of our lives;
we liberate ourselves from tyranny.
Written for a poet friend

When Bells Ring Out

When Bells Ring Out

The Cripple throws away their crutch;
you know they’re on the mend.
It's time to rejoice with acclaim
for the healing of the lame.

Hope has brought
its torch of sweet liberation
to break the chains of ages
that claim the bound hostages.

Lost Humility has found
a lamp within the darkness
and lights its path clear as day;
Independence stands to walk away.
