Next door to this pure House of Fortitude A House for Sixteen Virtues living there.
Upon an Avenue o Seven Cinquain Casas
Next to the final House of Temperance.
Just at the end of this bright Avenue.
Visit that House when you have a mind to study. All the twelve and one hundred. Virtues living in the service of Mankind.
Oft forgotten but alive within our poetry.

These are all the things that mankind once held near and dear and practiced everyday. Now?? God forgive us all for getting away from the basics of being godly. God bless

I am now reading a biography of Benjamin Franklin. Early in his life he made a list of practical virtues: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, and chastity. Then he began practicing them discovering that it was more difficult than he had imagined. The problem was that “while my care was employed in guarding against one fault, I was often surprised by another.” Then he tried to practice each virtue for one week at a time. His experience: “I was surprised to find myself so much fuller of faults than I had imagined”. He called this his moral perfection project. I was wondering what you have done with your list and what your experiences are. I didn’t check to see if all of his virtues are contained in your list.

Very well done. I am w0ndering how many of these vitures you exercised in completing this. This would certainly be a good list for confessional examination. How many and to what degree would an individual need to possess and exercise these before considering themselves as virtuous?
