Metaphor Leaf as life‘s Journey

1 leaf in stream 2112 by ron.tina

Abandon

Abandon

Falling—
A leaf floats
through the air—
turns, tumbles,

slips, and drops
to sleep gently
on the surface
of a pond.

Ripples
roll out within
widening circles.
In expanding waves

beyond control
the dream begins
to ride on its
glass reflection.

Silence
is that mirror
locked in stillness.
The quiet brook

flows slow toward
a new horizon—
motion is unseen
as its course shifts.

Renewed
the journey
embarks
outward into
the unknown.

like a leaf that falls, we don't know where we'll land....we can make plans but which way the water flows or how the wind blows....who knows?
