The Beautician's Dilemma

She stared
At her masterpiece,
Her creation
Covered in
Cream veil
And Rosy
Feathers
Ready to
Be Wedded
On the
December
Days

Her Masterpiece

The neck
Brimming with
Shining chains
The hair
Glittering with
Rosy reins
Romanticizing
And fantasizing
On Glamorous Days,
the creation Stood……..

tilting
its face to
her says
admiring
its own
splendor,
it stood,
her creation
the masterpiece
waiting for
its owner,
the buyer
it stood,
waiting
to be wedded
on a December
eve, it stood

Her work done
The piece completed..
Admiring
Her Own creation,
The beautician
Said
“Wow you look great
Run to you your buyer”

Thus
It ran
To the buyer,
The beautician,
Left alone,
Pondering
Looking at the mirror
On her own
Reflection,
the ripened Cheeks,
wearied Eyes,
stretched lips
wondered, dreamt
yelled and prayed
for a buyer,
for knight in shining
armor to come
and ask for
her aging hands!!!

Another masterpiece from you my dear young man. This poem reminded me Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray'. Art outlives the blood and flesh..but the creator of art is up to all disappointments...too good.

Stunning poetry and I had a splendid time reading the lines in anticipation of a twist! I just love it all. The sensitivity of its creation, the layout of the words and the message it brings to the reader. A perfect picture to set it all off too!

Good enjoyable stuff! :) The scene appears half comedy, half tragedy for me. The end is a 'wow' humanistic twist. Other than that, it's the freshness of this that really impresses! And perhaps you know, i feel 'admiring its own splendor' shall have appeared in a single line...

Love and longing expressed with the sort of imaginative genius that sings between your ears, Shan. I like this poem very much. Very much indeed. The format is shapely, the subject matter, insightful and the fairytale twist leaves the reader moist eyed. How many expend all their devotion on that which cannot reciprocate. A beautiful poem that shows the reader how very much you understand women. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Shan, your poems are always best read aloud - your love of words and rhyme always shines bright, but the sentiment of this poem glows brighter - it has a message that touches the heart... though love can strike at any age. ;)
