Same friend, different challenge:
"...take this line: Lingering somewhere in my mind - and create a poem with this line being the first and last line of the poem, not over 24 lines, any subject."

Lingering Memories

Lingering somewhere in my mind,

are my memories of yesterday.

Sometimes I fear I've lost them

to the chaos of todays and tomorrows.

When I close my eyes though,

and listen to the beating of my heart,

I can feel them,

breathe them,

as if you are still here

holding my hand.

I hear you whispering

those love songs...

softly,

tenderly,

touching me deeper

than anyone

ever has before.

My precious one,

you are forever in my heart,

my cherished treasure,

my soulful love...

and your scent is forever

lingering somewhere in my mind.

Very Nadine, very good, one of your best, me thinks. Truly pleased you were inspired. Nothing here that I do not like, a rare thing indeed, for me. I will mail you about this poem.
