I Have Missed You

Good morning, Sunshine...
It is so good
to see your smiling face.
In the rays you shower down,
there is such warmth and love.

I have desperately missed
your daily presence
all these
cold and lonely months.
Never did I think I’d feel this sad,
promising so long ago
I’d be okay in the darkness
of your absence.

The reality,
and the truth I’ve discovered,
is that I need
to feel your comforting embrace,
like a best friend’s
unconditional love and understanding.

Forever and always
wrapped around me,
your touch goes deeper
than the glow on my skin in your light,
and energizes my very soul.

Don’t let those clouds
hide the beauty in your eyes,
for only in them
do I see the best part of me.
Hold me closely
to soothe my tired
and aching heart.

If you must sleep at the end of this day,
I am begging you,
please visit me again in the morning.
I will have a hard time resting
in anticipation of our reunion.
Oh, how I have missed you.

Good work, Nadine.. And yes, Sunshine is like a best friend we need when it's all so cloudy... Sometimes, a best friend could be the sunshine in our life...
