Christmas rush.....Christmas haste.....Christmas waste......
(I was on my way to a Christmas dinner when I saw this scene that inspired this post-Christmas ditty....)

Post Christmas

December 25
6:30 pm
trash on the street:

empty gift boxes
torn wrappings
a Christmas tree

coudn't they have waited
at least till the 26th

Is Christmas over
once we open the gifts?

I wonder if they trash it too
The spirit...

(or do they store it with
all the junk in the attic?)

The poet makes indelible that which the rest of the world can so easily gloss over. This is brilliant, Sonya. The sickening picture really plumbs the depths of human ugliness leaving the reader sickened and ashamed. You don't pull your punches, do you! Powerful write. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Words (unfrtunatey) so well delivered...but ony because your scenario is reality....Where is the Spirit....What happened to out values....Why do some think us wrong for celebrating the Birth of The Christ, publicly ?Hapy New Year, young lassie...May the very best of life visit your doorstep, let itself in, for you to take into your Heart ....and ensconce in ! ~ FjR ~

well they enjoyed already the gifts, that's the spirit we acquired, to empty the pocket, but you let every one happy with your gifts
