Ok so I was litterally sitting on top of a breakwater when I wrote this, but it is one of my favourite earlies because it can still bring me back to that feeling of longing I had for the person I wrote this about.

I sit

I sit atop a rocky cliff
Overlooking the wide, welcoming sea
I sit, I stare and wonder
Why there isn't a you and me
The cold wind blows against me
I shiver and hold myself tightly
Wishing for your arms

The Skyline, a rainbow of colors, call;
Bringing me deeper into my thoughts
Bleeding from blue to yellow
To red to purple
With white clouds lingering in the sky
Like my heart lingering for you
I sit, I stare and wonder
If I were any other thing
Would I still have fallen for you

Thank you Carl & Marvin. Thankfully my heart doesn't need much consoling these days; this old poem does bring back some strong feelings and memories though :)

If i could only there to console your lonely heart, definitely I would ( others would do too ). Such longing for someone gone is no new issue, but the intensity of it as you described in this poem is amazing fact! Very nice write.

This is a beautifully expressed poem of love and longing, fragileheart, and like many situations of unrequited love, such a love rarely has a happy ending. Carl.
