that maybe there is something (significant other) I keep missing (innuendo)
and on which our (compatible) entire relationship feels (lying) based (adulterous)(invisible)(manipulation)(hopeless)(distant)(alone)(stop)

All of live seems to be this way ....really...in our most confident moments there lingers a doubt ...that if petted and nourished can gobble up anything good or bad we may be considering....which gives us no direction in and of itself just cautious feelings which in a dangerous world are worth having when they save us and ferocious beasts when they keep us from our hearts desire...
