Love is...

Being devastated at the sound
of a door closing at the break of dawn.

Keeping a number on a mobile phone
long after it's recipient has stopped listening.

Buying enough coffee for two
when the small jar would suffice.

Rifling through facebook profiles
to see if he still wears his hair the same way.

Knowing that this is not moving on.

Painful it is!But it is better not to whip a dead horse but to pick up another one if one must ride, for life must go on.

Been there - - done that Claire and you put it in the nutshell it needs - -- moving on is the thing needed. Your poetry shouts style. Thanks for the perceptive reminder.

You tap straight into the broken heart of behaviours that we could kick ourselves for, but carry on repeating! Excellent poetry Claire!!!! :) xxx
