Christmas Alone

Gloomy as always be
Christmas without a family
Loneliness crawls over me
As I think back the memories

How I wish to have wings
and fly across Mediterranean Sea
Just to be with my family
And spend my christmas holiday

Christmas loses its magic without children and family present. I think kath has found a good solution, but I would need to pretend it is not Christmas if I found myself alone. These days family are so scattered with their jobs and Josh Groban's song "I'll Be Home For Christmas" really pulls at my heartstrings. I have just brought it up on Youtube and really know how you must have felt because my eyes are watering as the combination of poetry and music is so touching~~~

I faced Christmas all alone last year Desiree and this poem communicates the gloom and lonliness that many experience. My tip is to make the day your own - think of as many things as you can to pamper yourself - embrace the freedom to do just what you want, without needing to compromise or adapt to others needs and wishes. I loved my solitary christmas and I turely hope that you can love yours too. Best wishes for a Happy Christmas! :) xxx

There's a lot of emotion in this simple poem. Reading it I truly wish that you could fly across the Mediterranean. May God bless you this season and send you people to share Christmas memories with.

Christmas time can be such a solitude time for many, the single, the widow, the elderly, those away from home. You have expressed this with a heartfelt touch in your poem. Very nice.
