Wolf's Song

In hearing the wolf howl deep in the night
I feel some small hope
That wilderness still lingers in the world

Where is this wolf howling so fervantly
At the lustrous moon
Above the forest darkened by the night?

Oh, what longing there is in the wolf's song
He covets his pack
The ones with whom he chose to share his life

This bestial howling reaches my ears
What a siren song
To my soul yearning for wildest freedom

His voice beckons the deepest part of me
Brothers of the moon
The world's darkness does not bind us in fear

The sound of his howling under the moon
Gives birth to the hope
That wilderness still lingers within me

Awesome! The wolf is one of my most favorite of natures wonders. You've penned their nature beautifully here. Pumpkin:)
