Overslept

the rain glistened
upon our slumber as
monday tugged
on the heavy sheets
two soft, silent souls
ignoring the
muted songs of 8 am
from beneath our pillows
a rainy commute commences
the crowded river streets
and i catch your stare
twinkling,
smiling at my messy hair
what a late start to our day
as you buy your boss a coffee
and hope for the best
but all is right with the world
as we continue
painting it with the
colors we love

It's a special feeling to be in love. How to keep love young and strong....that's the trick we all want to learn. But it helps if both have appreciation.
