Web-friends are simply the best, for all who know me on here - and some who don't - but no one in particular. The poem was born from a comment I made on a poem, but not related to the poet.

A Lover's Dream

Yet again, sadness prevails,
I notice that your love,
Is filled with, closeness,
Tender with hugs, cuddles,
Just as it should be; hmm.

And I yearn for your touch,
To hold you, caress you,
Tightly within my arms,
Making a connection,
Deep within our minds.

Our thoughts, nay; dreams,
Seeking . . . a higher level,
An all embracing enfolding,
Of hearts and minds,
That excludes all others.

Alas, we are oceans apart,
And I know, it cannot be,
For you love another,
As do I, and for us both,
Yet again, sadness prevails.

the only difference between friends and cyber-friends is that we cannot be there physically....but we can be there emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.....

This poem is simply beautiful, excellent title and verse! I too admire the 3rd stanza, but embrace it all.

This is a beautiful poem about longing to be with the one you love. Time and space and circumstances, including other loves and other lives keep you apart. I enjoyed the tenderness of your words, how it felt like a warm embrace, somewhere safe and strong. Your carefully chosen and orchestrated words are deeply reflective and soulful. Great writing!.....Nadine
