20 in love and alone

Summer Alone

In summer's work
I pause;
Remembering you,
I weep.

We alone
Know the sadness
Of parting
For months.

Our parents have forgotten
Their summers alone.

I like the poem. It has a good tone, until the end, at least for me. I don't think that parents forget their summers alone. Now, maybe your talking about yours and hers only. But mine, especially my mother who taught me how to read at the age of nine months, and put into me by teaching and/or example nearly everything that has any value, definitely remembered the deep and broad realities of the life that she had lived.
