The sky will hang it's coat up and forget rain-boots
It looks like snow today
Given any leeway I will float away
Kites on strings, tied to fingers, but
Suddenly I will discover my recipes for birthday cakes
Lost these last couple centuries
There is not yet a word for this feeling
Responding to the stealing of your life's work
You bang pots on themselves to mime your anger
Breaking pens in half to feel the ink purr.

I recommend not examining the results too closely.
Any similarities to real life are purely incidentally.

What Applied Was Non-Applicable///The little boxes had faded in the mist/ My marks were all washed away/ I enjoyed the clean smell of the day./ There never was any stormy-day list// I watched you drift in the cloudy sky;/ I watched your kites lift their wings./ They soared above the cliff that sings./ I watched you blow out the candles with a sigh// Your unspoken words became the sunlight;/ your white face in the snow clanged/ within the emptiness where the pantomime changed./ to sudden your script became my sight./ There an imagined black cat hums / to my muse's astonished delight// Nice poem. Loved it. The depth of feeling in the images is remarkable. A poet friend// RH Peat
