Gypsy Music

In the desert sands, among the gypsy music and the blue night,
Another piper torments the heart.
When at some serene moment the mind is not preoccupied,
I feel my soul dance a tribal dance
Guided by ancestral music
Along the borders of time, beyond the ordinary,
The desert sands reveal secrets
That once known will drive men mad.
Giant women wake up from the slumber of generations
And call me to a state of trance,
The winds respond to their howl
Twice in terror and enchantment.
In these desert sands, my soul leaps out
And seizes me as something foreign.
Oh, the gypsy music and this blue night!
Oh, these strange bones and savage jaws!
Somewhere beyond the strength of my perception,
Something majestic and horrible has stirred
And demands sacrifice!

Some of my favorite music is gypsy music. I must have an inner yearning to be free especially symbolized by dancing.
