deja vu by ilo1940

Déja Vu

Of all the souls who've trod upon this earth;
a million billion lives who came before,
there must be those whose stars were set at birth
to walk, predestined, through a chosen door.
It seems as though there should be something more,
beyond a place where angels fly on wings;
where people play their roles in love and war,
and simple peasants rise to thrones of kings -
where every time returned, a lesson brings,
as souls advance from one life to the next.
Elusive floats the memory that sings
of those whose path with our lives intersects.

For somewhere in a distant time and place
your eyes beheld me from another face.

This is one of the best sonnets I have read in a long time Kate. It is Bookmarked to make sure De'ja Vu will be read again.

The joy of knowing about reincarnation for me is that babies born on pavements with a short, violent life will still get a chance to come to earth to lead a full, happy life! Brilliant subject, love it...

"For somewhere in a distant time and place your eyes beheld me from another face" An excellent write...with an enigmatic ending
