Encore

The air all around me is still
and oh so cold.
My body shivers
as I lay still quivering from your touch.
Listening to the silence,
I feel the hunger burning,
and my soul instinctively calls out to yours.
The tears that burst forth
from deep within
pour onto my pillow,
beneath my trembling head.
My eyes are closed;
I cannot bear to see the light.
The dam is broken,
and I weep,
praying you’ll feel me,
and hear me
calling your name.

Such depth of longing exhibited here; a full-fledged soliloquy featuring languid progression into despair that resonates.

In times like these sometimes our poetry is all we need to get us back on our feet and embracing the day again!

Poignant work, indeed...Mucho kudo's as you are one of few who actually understand the poetic punctuation...and the role it plays in enabling the Reader to take in the work as if yoiu recited it....Solid crafting...!FjR~
