Concerto.

Any robin’s fond of talking.
Once he saw two ox-eyes working
On a plum tree, on the top.
He began to hop-hop-hop.
“Dear ladies, don’t you think
It’s a perfect time to sing?”
Asked Robin. “In the morning”,
Added he, “Working’s boring”.
“We agree”, was the reply.
“While you sing”, said one ox-eye,
“We’ll continue finding worms.
So, dude, begin your songs”.
As soon as he sang “Tick-tick!”,
They left him for their chicks.
What a shame! The singer said,
“They believe my voice is bad.
When I see one more ox-eye,
I’m not gonna waste my time.”
But some sparrows had heard
Robin’s ‘ticks’ and they had thought
That it would be very nice
To sit near the ox-eyes.
So, those little ones
Heard his song and watched his dance.
Yes, it was a real show!
Robin ticked, hoped fast and slow,
Froze, ran along the bough…
Greeting chirps made Robin bow.
And the audience he got
Liked the show quite a lot.

What fun! Sometimes we don't know the gifts that are free, right there in front of us. Wonderful story poem, Konstantin.
