stormforce by terrier29

Stormforce

It confronts the tailend of unharmed carefree mindset,
and hurls sweet calm
away
in wake of departure.

Stormforce then begins change in it's merciless course,
composure is altered,
acceptance
is then transformed.

Scars shell away exposing pain and fester begins, wounds
start to ooze dark
sadness
at heartfelt parting.

Like turbulence gone astray, thin shards of gale-battered
memory strike hard as
stormforce
betrays waywardness.

Gathering frenzied strength again it floods resistance,
forces entry and flails,
quenched
later it slinks away.

Now dry-eyed she can fight on for yet one more day.

I note the connection with a storm from the sea...and now am wondering what that storm face looks like from the prairies where I was a boy, watching storms grow all day until they arrived in the early evenings.... The symbolic connection is not lost upon me, I am a husband and father of three beautiful daughters, and now grandfather to a "perfect" granddaughter (only in a fool's eyes). I have seen these storms come and go many times. Wonderful write, Fay.

The emotions and nature work in harmony in a classic manner, Fay: Like turbulence gone astray, thin shards of gale-battered memory strike hard as stormforce betrays waywardness. Vigorous lines.
