Based on one of my favourite paintings, the famous watercolour by Turner called 'The Storm (Shipwreck),' of 1823, now in the British Museum, London.
Hearty thanks to Misty for superb tutelage regarding this Ekphrasis style
and for locating this wonderful photo for me:

Turner... One Stormy Night

What lengths
you went
to get it right
inside the scene
on the mast
you were tied
throughout the
storm
you weathered
it here
saturated
thrown around
until you spun
maelstrom of sound
colours awash
upside down
all around
master of light
though in fright
what a sight
one stormy night

Yes, I know the story of Turner being tied to the mast, now that's dedication to art, is it not: good tribute, good write.

An artist's work from the beginning of a painting till finishing it is quite a storm, robyn. Besides the picture, you are capturing the storm the artist is in, too... This is one terrific piece! xo
