Could not make picture any smaller
but hope you can see what I saw
in the fantastic seaweedy shape.

Beached Kelp by dyoshida

Battle of Wills.

With its mysterious
ambery toned nodular appearance,
the fronded sight of a
washed-up
gigantic ribbon of weedy kelp
tugged
from the deep of the great Atlantic
inspires me.

Shaped like a spiralling swirl of tactile
curvaceous open-mouthed
lizard,
when spread
pre-historically ground-ward
the grin
of the dark greeny throat
juts jaws
onto a sublimely smooth-lined
yawning
face, which, turned toward
afternoon sun
lies,
frills baking as it fast-dries.

What violent past
has ejected your submarined
kelp-life
from forests of green, what storm
dislodged you,
wrenched at your roots
and skyward
threw you onto this beach ?

Your prehensile shape will never
release
any secret to me
but I think I see battles of below-tide wills
in a dimly-lit world,
and like the mystical
dragon
your undulation
reminds me of patterned
creation
which rose primevally
from salty first-seas
and grasped
at beginnings of light.

You anchored fast in watery
deeps
and grew mightily
strong.
I will carry you back now, nearly-dead
sea-kelp
and leave you,
where you belong.

Marvelous. This poem sends sound waves into the deepest depths of one's being - or perhaps that's where they come from.

What a great poem of a deserted weed like a snake and I see the depth of rotten life and its death too? You anchored your great poem in our souls of Ocean Fay!

the imagination takes wings when one is at sea shore , even the smallest and most mundane things then morph into verses and ride the beats ..this worl of yours is every bit praise worthy as the description here is astounding and spell binds me. I have never experienced such sustained bouts of creativity ever , no matter how many times I have been to a sea shore ....your work is exemplary
