Your Sweet Caress
Closing out the distractions,
Inviting darkness all around,
A single candle glows.
The depth of sentiment, profound.
The only thing I hear now
Is the beating of my heart,
As I feel your ever presence;
Something precious from the start.
Affectionate energy touches my skin
And I shiver with pure delight.
Your beauty and loving glances
Are captured, and held tonight.
With eyes closed, I reach my hands
To feel your warmth in mine.
Again you’ve occupied my soul;
I’m blessed with love divine.
Among the things that I love most,
My God, my family and friends,
I realize you’re in the midst
Of this circle that never ends.
Tightly woven with bonds so strong,
Each mean so much to me.
Knowing you’re part of all I am,
My spirit feels set free!
Your love takes any sadness
That I may ever truly feel,
And dissolves it into nothingness
As if it was never real.
Peacefully lost in the silent calm
As you hold me to your breast,
I feel all useless cares release;
Such healing’s your sweet caress.
