LOVES ONE WAY STREET
I've fallen in love with a man
Whose mere presence is like thunder?
So filled with electricity
That it drowns my soul in wonder.
Of moments apart that we spend
Never to feel a touch or kiss
Those moments we will never have
Are the ones I will truly miss?
His voice travels upon the storm
With intimate moments in doubt
As it tears my heart asunder
What is this love truly about?
The vortex grasps my every cell
For a love I will never boast
Why must I continue each day?
To live in silence as a ghost?
My love for him I cannot tell
The truth I must always contain
Allowing the raindrops to cleanse
All the suffering and the pain.
I never should have opened up
To a man that could never be
A fool I was to not move on
To adhere to reality.
So in love I now find myself
On a road I have never been
A one way street I must travel
For a love I will never win.
