letting go - tanka suite

ashen horizons,
striving to birth through shadows
shy drops of sunlight,
crush my soul under their weight
smelling like orphan stardust…

no need for the heart
to dream again of lost paths,
when footsteps are gone…
just trying to pull myself
out of my hopeless love swamp…

i like to think though
that every once in a while,
once in a blue moon,
my words still feel upon them
the burning gaze of your eyes…
