Adrift

Like autumn leaves upon the river
and icebergs in the spring
I'm a captive of the current
carried by anothers whim

It seems I am adrift again
once more carried by the wind
with no anchor chains to hold me
nor ropes to bind me in

Will there ever be stability
within this soul of mine
will I ever find the one
that becomes the tie that binds

sharing the vulnerability and rudderless existence that can come after losing a hoped for relationship... You write of this well... and may you find peace within your soul soon... whether the sought after 'one' appears or not...

lyrical and precise lines, Thomas, that capture that tight feeling for the reader

The last line reminds me of "I Walk The Line" but Johnny Cash. Sometimes we feel so that we've found that special one but they don't always agree..... Even when we find love we sometimes doubt it based on past experience and our own fears. I can't resist: How about a Sadie Hawkin's Dance...so she can pick you out? Love the word "adrift" and think you got the name perfect for this.
