Old Phone Book

I came across
an old phone book
in a box of stuff
the other day.
Published in 2000,
it contained an entry
to a place in time
I had all but forgotten.
That residence...
a desperate Hail Mary
play to balance
a dead relationship
and financial ruin
so densely woven together
as to be indistinguishable.
Repressed and forgotten
memories gave rise
to appreciate where my
choices have since taken me.
To a new star in my life
influencing my choices
with a gravity of contentment
and appreciation
for life and love.

Just a chance sighting of an entry in an old phone book can make us reflect indeed.... Glad it worked out better in the end
