Oils

Your oils meander in rectangle

and jutt-knife from canvas
in manner at once elegant and craggy.

it could be 1895 and it's a steep
climb to our Berlin garrett,

The painting of 'Old Chinese Opium Smoker'
bedazzles
resonates
lasts
and shimmers with infinity.

The oils rise to the top!

Your wonderful words do justice to the painting: art from art. This is a winner!

I love the way that "meander" and "jutt-knife" suggest a painting technique and style. Could the painter be Oskar Kokoschka or Klemm?
