Empty Soul

She sits on her bed
Remembering each thing
That has been said

She lights a candle for each tear
Finds there too many to count
collecting in jars that hold letters

Finds that pain
Continues to take up home
Scared of the person who
She needs to be
Scared of the person she has become.

She's longing for something
Though she doesn't know what.
So she'll wait in the shadows
Till that one is somehow
Revealed too.

And pain knows her aching
And knows how she cries out
Yet he continues to to take
Up her in her withering soul.

My "life" is no "life" at all
Its simply me trying not to fall
And now that I"m drowning
In despair, no one seems to care.

To say that you understand
Or that you have been there too
Its like telling me that you have
Walked in my shoes

Maybe you understand
But you've never been there
I doubt anyone wishes to live in despair.

don't give me your sympathy
Because I will just throw it back
Your words are just empty sayings.

pain knows no bounds
And sorrow has no end
And feelings are unwanted

While I drown in pain
You watch from above
Shouted down sympathy that pours
As blood

I am an empty soul
Life has seem to lost its hold.

I'm numb from the inside out
And I am void of all
simply put I am dead and
Pain has lost its solid ground.

Very Powerful poem, well written. Pain and despair is so overwhelming, but it is a choice that we make. I know because it is a choice that I have made all to often in my life.

Yes, this is exactly what pain is all about. You have your own immaculate style to express emotions.

A great soliloquy. Well versed with powerful discourse.

pain is all over the verses , that beautifully connect with each other like the beads on a single thread...the words are simple yet the sense and the message is enigmatic.

Seems to me relying on others for happiness is not always good. A sad but well written story of lost love.
