Cormorants in flight... by Gitart

3000 Leagues to 30 Thousand Feet

I functioned
3000 leagues under the sea
in the murky water
on the bottom
of the deep
is where you found me.
Going blithely by
with my blue complexion
behaving like never breathing
was natural.
The turbid life was all I knew......
......until I met you.

Then you rushed down
put on my air supply,
it was there always
I just could not see
through my clinched tight
third eye.

You gave me the first
real air
I had ever breathed
It went right to my soul,
reinflated me.
When we surfaced
you taught me how to fly

We soar now
in the clouds
sometimes on number nine,
often even higher,
but whos counting
altiitude or time?

A great poem Ms. Dodd. Remarkable joy is found within the words. /// Cumulous Nine// Tell me where did cloud nine / in its heavenly blue brine arrive/ from within its luminous dreamy / sky? It makes me cry a lttle sigh. / I've searched the depth of sea. / But no one can tell ,you or me / when or where, how or why. / Yet cloud nine came just the same— / like they say, it found its way. / A periscope went up from some / great depth and across the ocean's / wide width we’re swept, and suddenly / we have that pillowy cloud nine. / and now, somehow, everyone says:/ “I want one, to be all mine." / They’ve discovered the moment / so rare that holds a universe bare; / its like finding the truth, like love / its all of life pulling its first tooth. /// © RH Peat 1/15/2011 2:47pm/ form: stichic. 19 lines/ metaphor: cloud nine is finding love. /

Redemption expressed with wonderful metaphoric skill (and a stunning accompanying image too!). Your final line adds a very human touch to one of your most uplifting poems to date. Welcome back. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
