Flowfree Sonnet

Time Enough

You know I hold your promise in my heart
for all to see, so come and marry me
tonight, say yes and we will make a start
on happiness, and love will always be
the way that we begin each day, and night
belongs to us, we met and learned in her
the things our souls have seen by studied sight.
We arrived at knowledge, we must stir
and strive and thrive and teach, and care for all
that fall within our families and friends.
But now we've found the perfect time to call
our own, I think the world will make amends.
So bend your mind around the fact that you
and I will share forever 'til it's through.

This poem is superb on many levels; firstly, it flows along beautifully and the adept use of enjambement gives this sonnet a conversational feel that transcends the constraints of the form; secondly, the sentiment is heartfelt, special and beautiful; thirdly, it's turned my head and made me want to try my hand at a flowfree sonnet, and ultimately, it's perfect! :)
