A wanted B to be not as B, as A
And so between them rose conflicts all the way
Then came between them C and said: You see,
Birth and Growth and all influence how we be
Surroundings too influence the way we think and be
Since Lives are not the same our livings too vary
To wish you to be me is idiocy you see
Each one is really free to choose how he should be
Oh, ways of life vary with you and him and me
So good if all could see this truth of variety
A said at this: My way is the perfect one and so
Oh, all I want to follow this me, or be my foe
C then said: You see, oh, with your eyes only
But see that what you see isn’t what sees this B
The perfection you see could imperfection be
It's narrowness of thought that brings this sympathy
You’ve right to guide but not right to force you see
So be not stubborn dear, be good to leave him free
With time and circumstance ‘Rights’ and ‘Wrongs’ vary
Your ‘Rights’ may be his ‘Wrongs’; your ‘Rights’ are yours only
In matters personal so one should be but free
Leave him to be himself; you be what you should be.
